LISA SWERLING: GLASS CATHEDRALS

Happy August, this month we are kicking off with a little bit of art, something we haven’t done in a while. I am a big fan of modeling and the idea of using scale to produce ‘a bigger picture’ but I will be honest in saying that model making at university during my interior design studies was pretty much hell because of the high expectations from lecturers. Anyways back to the subject, Lisa Swerling has produced these fantastic pieces of work that uses scale too draw perspective on the limitations of human understanding, mirroring experiences that capture a range of universal themes in everyday life such as children, marriage and travel (via designboom).‘Glass Cathedrals’ can be seen at the Origin contemporary craft fair in London this september.
