VON SONO ‘From me for you, forever and never as long as you like’
Von Sono is the brainchild of Stephanie Oberg, originally from Munich, Germany she now resides in her studio situated in London’s East End. It was seeing that first cloaked image that magnetized me into the collection, the unstructured fabric falls down to create an untouchable silhouette. The proportions are a key element throughout these images as the pieces are actually simple to rock when assembled with similar items as shown above. The heavier knitwear ventures into the scarf and headwear sector and executed beautifully. Some of the thinner full face balaclavas show a direct link to the work of Rick Owens but with these appearing to be on a looser fit they look easier apposed to that thuggish appearance a tight knitted one can illustrate. Spring Summer 2012 shows the flip side of Oberg’s work with a journey through prints and cape like pieces really distinct throughout.
