These are some of the most solid units of footwear I have seen for SS12. The Viridi-Anne footwear for AW11 was strong with boots similar to that of JULIUS but honestly these three are in a league of their own. First up is the sneaker at the top, the asymmetric lace panel makes for a interesting change, finished off perfectly with an over-sized black sole similar to the Wooyoungmi one I will post shortly. The subtle use of the frayed fabric is my favourite aspect, with it being finished in white it creates the ideal contrast. Up next is the ghost like wash of the white lace up boot, the finish of the boot has pretty much done all the hard work and persistence of achieving that ‘battered’ effect for you. Again it uses similar features to the sneaker with it using a slight asymmetric lace up towards the top. The extended stitching on the toe is straight up rad though. To finish it off is the slip on boot/shoe if you will. It almost feels like they took the creased engineered boot for AW11 and chopped it down to create this. I love the way how it looks molded to the sole with the leather tape details creating an unfinished/used feel. These with a strong pair of shorts and leggings and your ready to go. I will be doing some more features of the SS12 collection in the weeks to come.
